Testimonial

Working with Wishbone has been a refreshing experience from the start. Sales staff were knowledgeable, accessible and provided the information we needed promptly to make decisions. The production and administrative teams were able to adapt their way of working to meet the procurement constraints of our project. Working directly with them as the manufacturer made the whole process smooth and seamless, and we won’t hesitate to work with them again on future projects.

Wheelchair Accessible Site Furnishings

Picnic tables, benches, planters, waste receptacles and outhouse buildings designed with wheelchair users in mind.

About wheelchair accessible site furnishings

Most of this page is picnic tables. The Rutherford Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table separates the seat and table sections so a chair pulls in at the end or the side, and it runs 96 in long. The Bayview Hexagonal Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table leaves one of its three benches off, and the open place sits level with the others. The Parker Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table 8ft has centred, sloped legs, so there is nothing to catch a footrest on the way in.

It goes beyond tables. The Rutherford 4 Space Wheelchair Accessible Planter is an 8 ft raised bed with ADA-compliant geometry sized for four chairs at once. The Urban Form Easy Access Waste Receptacle has 8 in openings on all four sides. The Bayview Plus Bench 6ft carries an ADA-compliant 18.5 in seat height, and the John Wheelchair Accessible (ADA) Outhouse Building is the ADA size in that family.

Frames are marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel hardware across nearly all of it, with 100% recycled plastic lumber for slats and tops. Seat heights on the seating run 17.5 to 18.5 in.

Larson Picnic Table

Testimonial

We are very pleased with the Wishbone Bottle/Can recyclers that are attached to our downtown garbage bins. They are attactive and work very well. With the "Bottles and Cans'" decal, they are very recognizable as a recycling point for bottles and cans. Having no lid, they are easily accessible to those who may wish to take the bottles and cans for a recycling refund. The Bottle/Can recyclers enable us to achieve two goals: bottles and cans get recycled, and those in need get a little financial help without rifling through the garbage bins.

Questions

Which picnic tables are wheelchair accessible?

The Rutherford, Bayview, Parker, Single Pedestal and Urban Form families all offer them. The Rutherford and Parker accessible tables are 96 in long. The Bayview Hexagonal version drops one bench for chair access. The Single Pedestal Wheel Chair Accessible Picnic Table keeps a compact 71 in square footprint.

Is there an accessible raised planter?

Yes. The Rutherford 4 Space Wheelchair Accessible Planter is 96.5 in long and 34 in high, with ADA-compliant geometry for four wheelchairs around the bed and about 20 cu ft of soil. It has a marine-grade aluminum frame and recycled plastic lumber slats, and custom lengths are available.

What seat height do the accessible benches use?

The Bayview Plus Bench 6ft has an ADA-compliant 18.5 in seat height. The Rutherford Wide Body Bench 6ft sits at 17.5 in and adds legroom at each end, with an armrest angle set so people can settle in and get up without effort.

Are there accessible outhouse buildings?

Yes. The John Wheelchair Accessible (ADA) Outhouse Building is 85.25 in long by 74.625 in wide, with a clear peaked roof for daylight and a louvered gable vent. It ships on a pallet and two people can assemble it in 3 to 4 hours.
