A bench replaced every seven years costs three benches in twenty. A bench replaced every twenty costs one. That arithmetic is the largest environmental lever in site furniture and it has nothing to do with what the bench is made of. It is about whether the bench is still there.
We cannot measure service life directly, because a bench that is still in the ground does not report in. What we can measure is whether the people who bought it bought again. 130 of the 175 municipalities we have supplied since 2018 have placed at least a second order, and nobody reorders furniture that failed them. A reorder is a durability report written by a customer.
The material's part in it
Recycled plastic lumber does not rot, split, or splinter, and we warrant it against all three. It does not need refinishing, so it does not degrade for want of maintenance that never happened. The frame is reclaimed steel or aluminum. The fasteners are stainless. Nothing in the bench has a shorter life than the bench.
