Site Furnishings for Municipalities
Benches, tables, receptacles, bike racks, bollards and planters specified by municipalities and parks departments.
About site furnishings for municipalities
Municipal work is where most of the catalogue started. The Rutherford Picnic Table was the first Wishbone picnic table, with separated seat and table sections for accessibility. The Aylesbury Bench 6ft sits on a marine-grade aluminum frame with recycled plastic slats, the combination that keeps maintenance low across decades of service. The JEM Lounge Chair carries a Muskoka silhouette in the same materials and ships fully assembled.
Waste receptacles on public streets have a different problem to solve: household garbage. The Modena Square Top Waste Receptacle has a non-removable top and a restricted opening for that reason. The Beselt Square Waste Receptacle adds a crowned top for drainage, an optional hands-free foot pedal and a hidden side-door release so crews service it without keys. The Pipeline Waste Receptacle sets its liner on the ground and keeps a low 27 in profile.
Bike racks from the Urban Form and Koble families fit tight sidewalks in a footprint around 10 in. The Urban Form Self Watering Rectangular Planter carries a reservoir that cuts water use by up to 80% and forklift slots for seasonal moves. Aluminum is on 36 of the 44 products, recycled plastic on 28.

Wishbone supplied the City of Campbell River all the furnishings last fall for an upgraded stretch of the South Island HWY south of Campbell River. Furnishings included bike racks, picnic tables, benches and our new single seat JEM lounge chairs. Trina is the Parks Technician for the City of Campbell River and she recently gave us these comments regarding the JEM Lounge Chairs we supplied on the project. Thank you to Wishbone for the JEM chairs. They are really comfortable, look terrific and the colours are perfect for the oceanside site. The chair blends the hues of driftwood and ocean and is a perfect complement to our branded City ‘blue’. Sitting in these chairs, placed as close to the beach as possible, is a magical experience. Imagine…a cup of coffee, and easy chair and a view that is out of this world!

We are very pleased with the curb stops...they are a fantastic product. I used 60 of them to define a few parking areas in our industrial park area, Warren is using his at our community arena parking lot, and Dougal has used the majority of his to create a parking lot near the train station.

Testimonial
My husband and I were taking a walk in North Vancouver and I decided to stop for a quick rest on a city bench. Once I sat down I immediately told my husband “You’ve got to try this!”. It was the most comfortable bench I’d ever sat on. I noticed a product tag on another bench further on down Capilano Road, and wrote down the phone number. From there I contacted Wishbone and received a quick response and pricing for the identical all-metal “Mountain Classic” bench. Fast forward to the completion date and Wishbone even delivered the bench (including going down some tricky stairs!). Thanks for providing such excellent service and an amazing product!

Questions
Which receptacles resist household dumping?
The Modena Square Top Waste Receptacle has a non-removable top with an opening adjustable up to 16 in. The Beselt Square Waste Receptacle restricts its opening to 6 to 8 in and offers a foot pedal that seals out animals.
Can crews service the receptacles without keys?
Yes. The Beselt Square Waste Receptacle uses a hidden side-door release. The Pipeline Waste Receptacle places its liner on the ground, so a bag comes out with less reach and less strain.
What materials hold up with minimal maintenance?
Marine-grade aluminum frames, stainless steel hardware and 100% recycled plastic lumber. The lumber does not rot, splinter or warp and never needs paint. Powder-coated frames wipe clean.
Are accessible options available?
Fourteen of the products are tagged accessible. The Rutherford Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table and the Rutherford Heavy Duty Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table 8ft give end and side clearance for a chair.
