For most of our history, the lumber question had one answer. Since 2024 it has had four.
No stain, no sealant, no spring
The environmental cost of a wooden bench is not mainly the tree. It is the can of stain every spring for twenty years, and the crew day that goes with it.
Bamboo, and what rapidly renewable means
Hardened bamboo arrived in our lumber options in 2025 and shipped 121 units in its first year. It is marketed everywhere as a sustainable material. Here is the version of that claim we are comfortable making.
The games table, from nothing
We shipped no games tables to speak of before 2024. We have shipped between twenty and thirty a year since. Small numbers, but they arrived all at once, and that usually means something.
Five feet or six: six is still gaining
The six-foot bench was two thirds of our bench sales in 2019. It is five sixths now. The five-footer is shrinking, and it is worth knowing why before you specify one.
