About outdoor site furnishings for campuses

A campus is a quad, a plaza, a bus loop and a hundred paths between buildings, and the furniture on it gets used all day. The Mountain Classic Bench 6ft has a contoured backrest and large flat armrests that help a person stand up. The Modena Bench 6ft and the Mackenzie Modular Bench 4ft are cleaner in profile, and the Mackenzie carries custom-brandable leg ends for a crest, a donor or a sponsor.

Tables cover both study and lunch. The Vincent Picnic Table 6ft has no crossbar at the entry and bench seats 33% wider than the usual design, with mounting distances that flex for wheelchair access. The Bistro Bench Table Combo with Single Full-Length Bench sits at a 26 inch seat height, with a table sized for coffee and laptops.

Every frame is marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel hardware and a super-durable powder coat. Slats are 100% recycled plastic lumber as standard, with cedar, Accoya or bamboo on many models. The Urban Form Easy Access Waste Receptacle opens 8 inches on all four sides, so a crowd reaches it from any direction and a crew services it without a key.

We have installed Urban Form benches, waste receptacles, picnic tables, and Urban Space picnic tables at various locations around campus. All of these pieces have been in use for at least 2 years with several pieces of furniture having been installed for over 5 years. King’s campus is a public space that serves approximately 900 students, has 120 employees, and hosts many external groups each year. The furniture gets considerable use year-round and is comfortable to sit on. We have received positive feedback from members of the King’s community who have used the furniture. Our Wishbone furniture has been permanently installed on concrete/patio brick surfaces. The installation process was straightforward, and the furniture has proven to be durable and easy to maintain.
