Recycled Plastic Waste Receptacles

Waste receptacles and recycling stations clad in recycled plastic lumber that never needs paint, on aluminum frames. About recycled plastic waste receptacles

The cladding is 100% recycled plastic lumber over a marine-grade aluminum frame. Boards do not rot, splinter or warp, they never need paint, and on the Urban Form Waste Receptacle each one replaces individually. Capacities in the group run from 20.5 US gallons on the West End Waste Receptacle to 60 gallons on the Urban Form Two Stream Recycling Station.

Most have a restricted opening, 6 to 8 in, to keep household garbage out of a public can. The Modena Curved Top Waste Receptacle pairs that opening with a curved top that sheds water, a hidden front-door release for keyless service and an optional hands-free foot pedal. The Urban Form units use a keyless hidden door latch and an open bottom for washouts. The West End Waste Receptacle has a locking side door with a galvanized liner and a top opening sized to the application.

Where bears are a problem, the Freedom 55 Bear Resistant (Recycled Plastic) is certified bear-proof by Living With Wildlife, in 32 or 55 US gallon sizes. Cedar, Accoya and bamboo cladding are options on the Modena and Urban Form families.

I would like to pass on our thanks to you and your amazing staff for all of their assistance and hard work in making our downtown revitalized and beautiful. It has been a few years now since we have installed our bear proof waste bins, recycling bins, benches, bike racks, and picnic tables. They are weathering very well and still look new, even though the snow and ice try their best to wear them down. It is exciting ot see so many people sitting in our downtown core enjoy a coffee or ice cream or just taking a break from their day. Our downtown has been transformed into a welcome place for people to socialize and rest and just feel at home. You and your staff have been very helpful when we have needed adjustments made on garbage bins, new decals sent out (valdalism - they seem to go missing) and any time we have had to order new items for other parks around town. We are installing picinic tables, garbage bins and benches that match the downtown in our parks around town as we are so happy with the durability of the product.

Why are the openings restricted?

A 6 to 8 in opening blocks household bags while taking day-use waste. The Urban Form Two Stream Recycling Station uses the same 8 in openings on both streams.

How do crews reach the liner?

The Modena Curved Top Waste Receptacle has a hidden front-door release with no keys. The Urban Form units use a keyless hidden door latch. The West End Waste Receptacle has a locking side-access door with a galvanized liner.

Is there a bear-resistant option?

Yes. The Freedom 55 Bear Resistant (Recycled Plastic) is certified bear-proof by Living With Wildlife, in 32 US gallon (122 L) or 55 US gallon (209 L) sizes, with a hands-free foot pedal.

Can the recycled plastic be swapped for wood?

Yes. The Modena Curved Top Waste Receptacle and Urban Form Waste Receptacle offer cedar, Accoya or bamboo cladding, and the Urban Form also comes all-aluminum.
