Peachland sits on the west side of Okanagan Lake with forest directly behind it, and the furniture package at Turner Park reads like somebody who knows the town wrote it.
There is a rodent-resistant waste receptacle, which in that part of the Okanagan means bears as much as rodents. There is a wheelchair-accessible picnic table specified next to the standard one. And there is a detail that rarely makes it into a furniture list at all: ground anchors for the four-legged bench.
Anchoring is the sort of line item that looks like an upsell until the first spring after an install, when an unanchored bench has been moved to the water's edge or into the lake. Specifying it at order time costs a fraction of retrofitting it later.
