A campground is only as accessible as its toilet. That sentence took the park agencies a while to act on, and when they did, the change in our orders was abrupt. The accessible vault toilet went from a rounding error to a third of the buildings we ship in five years.
What makes a vault toilet accessible
A wider door and a level threshold. Turning space inside, which is why the building is larger than a standard unit. Grab bars. A riser at seating height rather than a low pedestal. And a level, firm approach from the parking area, which is outside our scope but decides whether the building is reachable at all.
What it replaced
The Jumbo unit, which was the largest building in the line, has fallen from forty-eight a year to six. That looks like the accessible unit taking the same role: a larger building for a busier site, now with the accessibility built in rather than as a separate order.
