Aluminum Site Furnishings

Every frame on this page is marine-grade aluminum, fastened with stainless steel and finished in super-durable powder coat. About aluminum site furnishings

Marine-grade aluminum is the frame material under most of what we build. It resists rust and corrosion on its own, so a bench or a bike rack can stand in salt air without the coating being the only thing between the metal and the weather. The frames are fastened with stainless steel hardware and finished in a super-durable powder coat, gloss or textured, from a stocked range of 15 gloss and 17 textured colours.

The range runs from the Rutherford Bench 6ft and the Standard Bench 6ft, both on aluminum frames with 100% recycled plastic slats, through the Bayview Picnic Table 6ft and the JEM Lounge Chair, to the LOOP 2 Space Bike Rack and the Modena Curved Top Waste Receptacle. Lengths span 5 to 285 inches and weights 2 to 943 pounds, so one material covers a side table and a picnic table.

Where the slats are recycled plastic lumber, the boards never need paint and a scratch shows the same colour underneath. Cedar, Accoya and bamboo are offered on many models where wood is wanted. The LOOP 2 Space Bike Rack installs in-ground or surface bolt-down, and the JEM Side Table comes with a bolt-down-ready base.

Questions

Does aluminum furniture need painting or refinishing?

The frames are powder coated over marine-grade aluminum, a finish that keeps more than half its original gloss after five years of South Florida exposure under AAMA 2604. Recycled plastic slats carry their colour all the way through, so they never need paint or stain.

Which powder-coat colours are available?

Fifteen gloss and seventeen textured colours are stocked. Gloss holds its shine and wipes clean; textured has a low sheen that cuts glare and hides scuffs. A custom RAL colour can be matched on request.

How are the aluminum bike racks mounted?

The LOOP 2 Space Bike Rack installs either surface bolt-down or in-ground and keeps a 4.5 inch depth for tight sidewalks. The Urban Form 2 Space Bike Rack stands on a 10.5 by 3 inch footprint with recycled plastic lumber slats to buffer bike frames.

What seating is offered in aluminum?

Benches such as the Rutherford Bench 6ft and Standard Bench 6ft, the JEM Lounge Chair, and picnic tables including the Bayview Picnic Table 6ft and the Rutherford Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Table, which has separated seat and table sections for wheelchair access.
