Waste Receptacles for Parks

Park waste receptacles from 20.5 to 40 US gallons, including bear-resistant and rodent-resistant models. About waste receptacles for parks

Wildlife decides a lot here. The Freedom 32 Bear Resistant (All Metal) is certified bear-proof by the Living With Wildlife Foundation, with a foot pedal for hands-free disposal, a hidden keyless latch and a curved back that sheds water. The rodent-resistant version of the Freedom 32 handles the smaller crowd of raccoons, squirrels, rats, gulls and crows, with a spring-loaded loading door that stays shut between drops and a restricted opening that blocks oversized waste. Both hold 32 US gallons.

Where wildlife is not the issue, capacity and servicing are. The Beselt Large Capacity Round Waste Receptacle holds 40 US gallons with a lockable side-access door and an optional rain-deflecting top. The West End Waste Receptacle is a 20.5 gallon round unit with vertical recycled plastic slats, a locking side door and a galvanized liner. The Pipeline Waste Receptacle sets its liner straight on the ground, so a 27 gallon bin stands only 27 in tall and weighs 52 lb, which makes bag changes easier on crews.

Frames are marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel hardware and a powder coat, and recycled content runs from 70% to 85% by weight on the models that state it.

We are very pleased with the curb stops...they are a fantastic product. I used 60 of them to define a few parking areas in our industrial park area, Warren is using his at our community arena parking lot, and Dougal has used the majority of his to create a parking lot near the train station.

Wilco has supplied and installed Wishbone site furnishings on several of our park and urban landscape projects throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan since 2008. One such project as photographed here is Kensington Village in Saskatoon SK. As a Landscape Architect I appreciate the Wishbone product for its’ aesthetics, function, value, durability, quality of material / construction, and fine attention to detail. Wishbone site furnishings do more than satisfy a functional requirement for one to rest their body, but rather do so in a way that places artfully crafted elements in the landscape, which serve to strengthen the designers’ passionate intent. There is nothing more disappointing than seeing a well-designed landscape being overlooked because of economically conventional site furnishings becoming the focal point.
